These pine gun racks can be built to accomodate multiple rifles and also fishing rods and come in a wide variety of finishes.

19th Century Oak Trunk Restoration

This late 1800′s oak trunk came to Hearthside Primitives for a restoration. It had been in storage for several years and was in rough shape. The restoration process involved removal of the leather covering, stripping of the wood and polishing the hardware. Trunk was stained in a medium Oak finish and sealed with several coats of polyurethane. New lift straps were added and finally the piece was sprayed with clear coat to protect the hardware.

Trunk as it arrived, rough condition and covered in leather that will need to be removed.

This view shows most of the leather covering removed and the wood is being stripped and repaired.

This shows the oak and pine stripped and bleached, ready for hand rubbing and finishing.

Here the first coat of stain has been applied and the hardware is being polished. Side lifting replacement straps and hardware are ordered.

Exterior nearly completed. Using much of the original pieces provided two storage compartments have been replaced in cover, left side has hinged drop down and right side has small jewelry box much like the trunk had when it was new. Note the original decal on inside right .

Trunk now sealed with four coats of polyurethane and all hardware polished. Ready to deliver to owner.

Country cupboard with natural finish top and whitewashed sides and front. Measures 24” high, 20” wide, 14” deep. Cabinet has two shelves for storage.

Set of night stands / end tables finished in cocoa. 24” high, 16” wide, 12” deep. These and other pieces can be seen at 58 Main St. LeRoy N.Y. at the Locally Made Shop. This business showcases hand made crafts and merchandise by local artists and carries a wide variety of treasures. Another great reason to visit downtown LeRoy and sample some of the unique shopping experiences.

Primitive kitchen cabinet

Primitive two door storage cupboard finished in pale hand rubbed whitewash. Interior stained in dark early American. This piece is currently being used as storage in a kitchen but could be used in any room. 50” wide, 34” high, 11” deep.

Mohogany record cabinet

Mohogany record cabinet built in the early 1930′s. This piece is a classic barn find, it was designed to store 78 r.p.m. records and has recently been fully restored. It could be a storage solution that would look great just about anywhere.
